i am using a guy named Daryl currently

he is very patient and able to explain many things clear to me.

i think he is ok so far.

he proposed a 5.8% fixed 5-year term, is it good? i don\'t think it\'s low enough, but maybe acceptable. we might change to variable later; we\'ll see

I haven\'t talked to our Mortgage guy for a while. I think you better go with a variable mortagage, at least for now. The central bank of Canada will keep lowering interest rate this year. 5.8% is too high, but fixed terms are always much higher than variable. My co-worker has been using a variable mortagage for many years now. His wife works for the CIBC. He said the rate was never higher than the fixed rate.

You should consider another mortgage broker. He should know better. Which mortgage provider did he recommend?

I will try to talk to my current one next time I see him; last time we met, he suggested to use variable too, but I didn\'t have enough finance knowledge to understand what he was saying (I still don\'t now), so I need to spend some time to learn this first, then ask the right questions next time.
